The Historical Directory of Pubs in the South East of England, including London

Search the Historical Pubs site for the South East of England by street address, surname and known pub names powered by FreeFind
If you have a query then try the search engine first, if you have something to add to the historical Pubs site, please email - and as an added incentive, - if you offer useful information for a Public House or Beer House, then I will usually add lots of extra detail / landlords. All non-copyright pictures are always welcome; BUT, if I do not have relevant pictures on the site, then I do not know where to find them.

 Maps of London, & surrounds.

This site is about the History of East London & Essex , which share many links. Much of the early history of Essex is now entwined into that of the East of London - and some areas are still in Essex, but feel more a part of London.

This is a new addition - it shows the rough boundaries of a London Parish in 1900

I am extremely grateful to David Hale for allowing me to link to his maps at the MAPCO site , they are a fantastic resource.

I get hundreds of emails every day, fortunately most 'spam mails' are deleted by my mail scan settings. The final emails are delivered to various email addresses, and replying to these are not always successful. If you do not hear from me in a timely fashion, please feel free to email again, I do not mind! This is a pure PUBS history site, I doubt if I know where the PUBS are NOW, but try the site for where they were a hundred years ago, again enjoy!
